Gift boxes put together with our producers
Every TAPAS shop gift box is made up of products that we also sell individually. So you know exactly what you are giving: the producer's name, the origin, the appellation and how the animals were raised or the product was made.
We never pad out our boxes with filler. No cheap wine or factory-made biscuits: only Ibérico charcuterie and extra virgin olive oil from Spain, Andalusian preserves, and pâtés, terrines and rillettes from small French makers.
Which gift box should you choose?
The Generous Christmas Box
The Generous Christmas Box is the most complete way to discover the best of Spanish and French food. It contains three hams from Marcial Castro, hand-sliced with a knife, so you can compare the grades: the 100% Ibérico bellota ham, PDO Guijuelo, the 75% Ibérico bellota ham and the 50% Ibérico cebo de campo ham.
They come with an organic extra virgin olive oil blend from Cortijo de Suerte Alta, sardines in olive oil from the La Chanca cannery and a pork pâté with summer truffle from Le Hameau des Saveurs.
For Ibérico charcuterie lovers
The Ibérico tasting pack brings together four sliced cured meats from Jamones Eíriz: 100% Ibérico bellota ham, caña de lomo, lomito and cebo de campo ham. It is the ideal way to discover the different cuts of the Ibérico pig.
The aperitif pack combines whole pieces and sliced ham from Hijos de Onofre Sánchez Martín and Jamones Eíriz: salchichón, bellota chorizo, lomito and caña de lomo. Enough to put together several aperitif platters over the festive season.
The charcuterie platter for raclette swaps the usual cold cuts for Ibérico ham, lomo and bellota chorizo.
For olive oil lovers
The Picual olive oil selection lets you compare three expressions of the same Andalusian variety, from Haza la Centenosa, Cortijo de Suerte Alta and Castillo de Canena.
The organic olive oil selection brings together four organic extra virgin olive oils, including a Demeter-certified biodynamic Arbequina from Castillo de Canena.
French pâtés, terrines and rillettes
The selection of 4 pâtés, terrines and rillettes from Le Hameau des Saveurs is a small gift on its own, or a nice addition to a box of Spanish charcuterie.
Understanding Ibérico ham before you give it
In Spain, the quality of Ibérico ham is governed by an official quality standard. It is based on two criteria: the percentage of Ibérico breed in the pig and its diet. Every ham carries a coloured label:
- Black label: 100% Ibérico bellota ham, from purebred pigs fattened on acorns. It is the only one that can be called pata negra.
- Red label: Ibérico bellota ham from pigs that are 75% or 50% Ibérico breed, also fattened on acorns.
- Green label: cebo de campo ham, from pigs raised outdoors and fed on cereals and natural pasture.
- White label: cebo ham, from pigs fed on cereals in intensive farming.
The word bellota means "acorn". During the montanera, from autumn to the end of winter, the pigs roam freely in the dehesa, a woodland of holm oaks and cork oaks. The acorns give their fat its melt-in-the-mouth texture and its aromas.
Our gift boxes feature hams from two major protected designations of origin: PDO Guijuelo, in Salamanca, where Marcial Castro's hams are cured, and PDO Jabugo, in the Sierra de Huelva, home to Jamones Eíriz and Hijos de Onofre Sánchez Martín. To find out more, discover the appellations of Ibérico ham and our Ibérico ham route.
Our producers
- Marcial Castro: a family business in Guijuelo, Salamanca, specialising in Ibérico pork for more than a century.
- Jamones Eíriz: a family business in the Sierra de Huelva, within the PDO Jabugo.
- Hijos de Onofre Sánchez Martín: Ibérico hams and charcuterie from the Sierra de Huelva.
- Castillo de Canena, Cortijo de Suerte Alta and Haza la Centenosa: three Andalusian olive estates producing organic or biodynamic extra virgin olive oils.
- La Chanca: an artisanal Andalusian cannery for tuna, sardines and anchovies.
- Le Hameau des Saveurs: artisanal French pâtés, terrines and rillettes.
Extra virgin olive oil, a gift that lasts
A good extra virgin olive oil is used every day, in the kitchen and at the table. Picual, Arbequina, Hojiblanca: each variety has its own profile, more or less peppery, fruity or bitter. Discover olive oil in Andalusia, the history of the olive tree and the tree and its fruit.
How to enjoy the contents of your gift box
Ibérico ham and charcuterie are best enjoyed at room temperature. Take the packs out of the fridge a little while before serving: the fat becomes glossy and melting, and the aromas come through.
Arrange the slices on a board, from mildest to most intense: cebo de campo ham, 75% bellota ham, then 100% Ibérico bellota ham. Add some bread, a drizzle of olive oil and a few preserves. Our ideas: putting together an aperitif platter, pairing wine and ham and cooking with Ibérico pork.

Frequently asked questions about our gift boxes
What is the difference between 100% bellota, 75% bellota and cebo de campo ham?
The percentage refers to the share of Ibérico breed in the pig. "Bellota" means that the pig was fattened on acorns, roaming freely in the dehesa. Cebo de campo ham comes from pigs raised outdoors and partly fed on cereals: it has a milder flavour and is less fatty.
Is the ham in the gift boxes pata negra?
Only black-label 100% Ibérico bellota ham can be called pata negra. The Generous Christmas Box contains some, with Marcial Castro's 100% Ibérico bellota ham, PDO Guijuelo, as does the Jamones Eíriz tasting pack.
How should I store sliced ham?
Keep the vacuum packs in the fridge, then take them out a little while before serving. Check the date shown on each pack and read our frequently asked questions.
