Bluefin tuna Thunnus Thynnus is highly appreciated in national and international markets. The flesh of this tuna is darker than that of other species of the same genus. It is also tastier: these fillets brighten up your appetizers for example.
Olive oil naturally preserves the flesh of the fish and at the same time tenderises it. The power of olive oil as a natural food preservative has been known since ancient times.
The artisanal production of La Chanca is synonymous with tradition, respect for the product and the search for excellence. The selection of the raw material is a decisive step in the manufacturing process. Before canning the fish, it’s cleaned – unwanted parts are removed – and cooked.
The phase in which the skin is removed, is of great importance in the production process. This is done by hand, without the use of chemicals, which allows the fish to retain its natural characteristics.
Canning preserves the vitamins, proteins and nutrients contained in the selected fresh food and keeps the flavour intact.
It is important to note that this product improves with time.

Easy to store without refrigeration. However, once opened, it must be kept refrigerated and consumed within 4 to 5 days. It’s better to always cover the product with olive oil.
